Senior Treasury & Financing Manager

About the Role

Challenge Group is a fast-growing international aviation group headquartered in Malta. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Treasury & Financing Manager to lead and develop the Group’s treasury and financing function.

This role is critical in ensuring effective cash management, optimizing capital structure, managing banking relationships, and supporting the Group’s financial strategy and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Group’s treasury operations, including payment processing and internal controls
• Monitor and reconcile incoming and outgoing bank transactions across all entities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
• Negotiate banking terms, fees, and financing conditions to optimize costs and efficiency
• Prepare and present treasury reports, financial analysis, and strategic insights to senior management
• Develop cash flow forecasts, liquidity analysis, and scenario planning models
• Manage the Group’s financing activities, including relationships with banks and financial institutions
• Optimize capital structure, including oversight of debt, loans, and third-party financing, ensuring compliance and timely settlements
• Build and maintain senior-level banking relationships, including account structures, KYC processes, and credit facilities
• Act as the main point of contact for banks, advisors, auditors, and regulators on treasury matters
• Enhance treasury policies, processes, controls, and systems
• Lead, mentor, and develop the treasury team, setting objectives and driving performance
• Support strategic and cross-functional initiatives to enable financial growth
• Participate in internal projects and ensure efficient department operations

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or a related field, or an ACCA qualification
• A CFA qualification is considered an asset

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in treasury/financing within an international environment
• Strong understanding of financial statements and ability to interpret and explain them clearly
• Proven experience managing banking relationships and financing structures
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach
• Ability to engage, influence, and communicate complex financial topics to senior stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Maltese is a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant financial systems
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines
• Strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced international environment
• Willingness to travel when required
