The Group VP Legal will serve as a key member of the leadership team and strategic advisor to executive management, driving legal strategy, governance, regulatory positioning, and enterprise risk management across the Group’s international operations.

This role is responsible for leading the Group’s global legal function across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that legal capabilities effectively support business growth, operational resilience, commercial agility, and strategic transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will combine strong legal expertise with commercial and strategic judgment, leading complex cross-border matters, regulatory and corporate governance issues, high-value negotiations, and enterprise risk matters within a fast-paced multinational environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Executive Leadership & Legal Strategy
  • Lead and strengthen the Group’s international legal function across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring commercially pragmatic legal support to the business.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Board, Executive Committee, and senior leadership on legal, regulatory, governance, and risk matters.
  • Drive legal transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, business alignment, and operational support.
  • Manage external counsel relationships and develop internal legal capabilities to support the Group’s growth and strategic objectives.
  • Support key business decisions related to growth, restructuring, and organizational change.
  1. Strategic Transactions & Corporate Development
  • Lead and support complex international transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions, restructuring initiatives, fleet expansion projects, and strategic investments.
  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and manage high-value long-term commercial agreements across aviation, logistics, infrastructure, procurement, and operational activities.
  • Support the Group’s international expansion strategy and entry into new markets and jurisdictions.
  1. Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Oversee legal and regulatory risk matters across the Group’s international operations.
  • Provide strategic guidance on regulatory, compliance, governance, and corporate risk matters.
  • Manage disputes, investigations, litigation, arbitration, and other sensitive legal proceedings.
  • Support the business in mitigating operational, commercial, and cross-border legal risks.
  • Ensure effective governance, compliance, and policy standards across the organization.
  1. Governance & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead corporate governance initiatives across the Group’s international entities and support Board governance processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Commercial, HR, Compliance, and external stakeholders to align legal strategy with business objectives.
  • Support public affairs, institutional engagement, and regulatory advocacy initiatives where relevant to the Group’s strategic interests.

Provide legal guidance to support business continuity and operational resilience.

Education

  • Law degree (Bachelor’s and Master’s).

Expirience

  • Significant senior-level legal leadership experience within a multinational, highly regulated environment.
  • Proven track record managing complex cross-border transactions, high-value commercial negotiations, and enterprise risk matters.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate law, M&A, competition law, regulatory matters, sanctions, compliance, and international commercial contracting.
  • Experience within aviation, transportation, logistics, infrastructure, energy, or similarly regulated international industries is strongly preferred.
  • Strategic mindset, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing abilities, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on, with a collaborative approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
