The Graphic Designer & Visual Content Creator is responsible for the hands-on creation and delivery of high-quality visual marketing and communication materials for Challenge Group and its brands. As the first dedicated in-house design position within the Group Marketing team, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day visual output of an international business and become an important part of the continued development of its visual identity.
Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Marketing Production
- Design and produce high-quality marketing and communication materials across digital and print channels.
- Create and adapt social media assets for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
- Produce digital advertising assets, email graphics, website banners, infographics, presentations, brochures, flyers, invitations, event materials, signage and other marketing collateral.
- Adapt existing creative concepts and templates into different formats, sizes, languages, platforms and applications while maintaining visual quality and consistency.
- Prepare professional artwork and production-ready files for digital and print use.
- Support the development and maintenance of corporate presentation materials and PowerPoint templates.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all artwork, including typography, alignment, image quality, formatting and technical specifications.
Visual Content Creation
- Create visual content specifically designed for digital and social media environments rather than simply adapting traditional graphic design formats.
- Edit and assemble short-form video content for social media, digital campaigns and corporate communications.
- Apply a strong understanding of pacing, framing, composition, transitions, typography and visual hierarchy to video communication.
- Edit, retouch, resize and optimise existing photographic and video assets for different channels.
- Identify opportunities to make technical, corporate or complex information visually clearer, more engaging and easier to understand.
Creative Collaboration
- Translate marketing and content briefs into effective visual solutions in collaboration with the Group Head of Marketing and Social Media & Content Manager.
- Contribute creative ideas and visual solutions within established strategic and brand direction.
- Collaborate with external designers and specialist creatives on major campaigns, new templates, advertising concepts and other projects requiring specialist creative direction.
- Take externally developed concepts, templates and visual systems and confidently roll them out across day-to-day marketing applications.
Asset & Workflow Management
- Manage multiple design requests and deadlines simultaneously, prioritising work according to agreed marketing and business priorities.
- Coordinate with printers, production suppliers and other external partners where required.
- Ensure final outputs meet relevant technical specifications and quality standards.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed about developments in graphic design, visual communication, social media formats, video content and digital creative trends.
- Explore emerging creative technologies and AI-enabled design tools where they can improve quality, efficiency or creative possibilities.
- Recommend improvements to templates, workflows and visual systems where appropriate.
- Continuously develop technical and creative skills and demonstrate curiosity about new tools, formats and approaches.
Education
- Degree, diploma or professional qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Equivalent professional experience and a strong portfolio will also be considered.
Experience
- 2–6 years of professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, multimedia, marketing design or a similar creative role.
- Proven experience creating digital and print marketing materials, including content for social media and digital channels.
- Experience working within established brand guidelines, with video editing and short-form content experience highly desirable
- Strong understanding of design principles, visual communication and visual storytelling, with excellent visual judgement and attention to details
- Ability to translate briefs into clear, effective and brand-consistent visual solutions across digital, social and print.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and PowerPoint; After Effects, Figma and AI design tools are advantageous.
- Creative, curious and proactive, with strong ownership, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative and receptive to feedback, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving international environment.
- Keen to learn and experiment with new tools and formats while balancing creativity, consistency and business objectives.
