Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all operations within the Challenge Group network, ensuring regulatory and internal standards compliance.
- Act as the primary decision-maker within a 72-hour operational window, coordinating the GCC team, including Flight Dispatch, Crew Control, and Maintenance Control (MCC), for the safe and efficient execution of the flight program.
- Monitor and respond to unplanned disruptions, such as technical issues, weather challenges, and delays, ensuring the impact on customers is minimized and operational punctuality is maintained.
- Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between maintenance, traffic control, and ground services, swiftly addressing and resolving operational issues.
- Initiate and oversee safety or security-related notifications, ensuring timely escalation to appropriate company levels.
- Activate the Emergency Response Plan when necessary, coordinating efforts to manage crises effectively.
- Continuously monitor and assess risks, ensuring timely communication and mitigation strategies aligned with Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs). - Adapt to logistical changes at airports or within the network to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of flight and ground operations.
- Regularly review and adhere to international and domestic aviation regulations, ensuring operational compliance and preventing penalties.
- Negotiate and secure last-minute flight permits and airport slots, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and smooth operations across various jurisdictions.
- Stay updated on all significant aeronautical communications that may impact airline routes and operations, ensuring regulatory and operational alignment.
- To maintain transparency, share real-time updates on the flight schedule, rotation plan, and any changes with all relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and adjust flight assignments based on the operational status of aircraft systems, such as lighting or technical limitations, to prevent avoidable delays or cancellations.
- Arrange last-minute crew travel, accommodations, and logistics, ensuring alignment with operational demands and minimizing disruptions.
- Analyze operational performance against company targets, gathering recommendations to improve processes, systems, and practices within the GCC.
- Implement strategic decisions during disruptions to maintain safety, punctuality, and service standards.
- Coordinate with team members to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions for enhanced operational effectiveness.
Continuously monitor meteorological conditions, operational limitations, and geopolitical restrictions and assess potential impacts on the flight schedule, implementing proactive measures to enhance
safety and operational continuity. - Utilize data and forecasts to make strategic adjustments that mitigate risks and minimize delays caused by environmental factors.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an operation-related role
- Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and technical requirements necessary for managing complex aviation operations.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying FAA and EASA regulations to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with flight operations-related software, coupled with strong IT skills for effective system management.
- Exceptional ability to analyze complex situations, evaluate associated risks, and develop practical solutions.
- Adept at prioritizing safety, efficiency, and commercial interests when making real-time operational decisions under time pressure.
- Demonstrated resilience and calmness in high-pressure environments, ensuring sound decision-making even in crises.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including guiding and motivating team members during routine and irregular operations.
- A team-oriented mindset, fostering collaboration across departments to achieve operational excellence.
