Job Description
The Crew Controller, reporting directly to the GCC Duty Manager,
plays a critical role in crew rosters' efficient and compliant management.
This role supports the GCC team in maintaining operational punctuality
and ensuring seamless flight operations.
This role involves coordinating mandatory and company training,
managing daily roster administration, organizing crew travel and
accommodation, and conducting ongoing legality checks to ensure
compliance with the company's flight time limitations scheme
Responsibilities
- Flight Schedule Oversight and Optimization: Monitor the flight schedule to identify irregularities and
implement safe, cost-effective solutions to optimize crew resources and meet operational goals. Proactively anticipate and manage potential disruptions to minimize their impact on operations and crew welfare. - Compliance with Regulations and Policies: Conduct continuous legality checks to ensure crew rosters
comply with FAA FTL, EASA FTL, and Company FTL schemes. Maintain thorough knowledge of regulatory
requirements and ensure adherence to mandatory and company-specific policies. - Crew Training and Resource Coordination: Coordinate all mandatory and company-specific training
requirements for crew members. Manage daily roster administration, including scheduling, revising,
and canceling hotel and travel arrangements as needed. Ensure roster adjustments account for crew
travel documents (e.g., passports, visas) and other logistical considerations. - Communication and Collaboration: Maintain efficient and clear communication with the GCC team,
ensuring alignment in managing and resolving operational issues. Act as the primary point of contact for crew members, providing timely updates and addressing crew-related inquiries. Advise the GCC Duty
Manager on necessary schedule changes caused by FTL limitations or other operational constraints. - Risk Management and Crisis Response: Identify and assess operational risks, implementing proactive
measures to mitigate potential disruptions. Cooperate effectively in crises, ensuring compliance with
internal rules and procedures. - Process Improvement: Regularly evaluate current Crew Control procedures, identifying areas for
improvement and addressing incompatibilities within GCC operations. Develop and apply strategies to
enhance efficiency and effectiveness in crew management practices. - Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Prepare and coordinate informative reports on key
performance metrics for GCC management, offering actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Track and analyze operational trends to optimize crew resource allocation and prevent recurring
challenges. - Team Coordination and Support: Work closely with the Crew Scheduling team to ensure seamless
integration between long-term planning and real-time operations. Foster a collaborative environment
that supports the overall goals of the GCC and enhances team performance
Education
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Crew Control or Scheduling, preferably in airline operations or a similar aviation environment.
- Strong understanding of EASA and FAA Flight Time Limitations (FTL) regulations.
- Familiarity with global crew compliance and operational standards is a plus.
- Ability to perform under time-sensitive, high-pressure situations with precision.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Emotional intelligence and adaptability in team interactions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Methodical approach with a strong focus on accuracy and operational protocols.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with crew management software is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
